Playa del Carmen offers a great diversity of reef dives — it's a nice place to discover the Caribbean marine life in a half-day trip!
Southern sites
Nice drift dives from Open Water certification: you will encounter colorful coral reef fish, schools of grunts, turtles, moray eels, stingrays and even eagle rays in the winter.
Northern sites
Nice walls and plateau dives accessible for Advanced Open Water divers — discover beautiful coral reef formations with numerous fish such as parrotfish, angelfish and grunts, plus turtles and rays.
Center sites
Shallow reefs perfect for training or refresh dives! Covered in soft corals and gorgonian fans, with schools of grunts, parrotfish, surgeonfish, and — if you're lucky — turtles and stingrays.

- Equipment (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, fins, mask and snorkel), 20 USD/day

Organisation
- Meeting 30 min before the boat departure — free hotel pick-up in Playa center
- Dive gear check, making sure everything fits you well
- Boat ride to the 1st dive site, 5–15 min
- First dive
- Surface interval, 30–40 min
- Second dive on another dive site
- Back at the shop to rinse off the gear
